Except famous Eiger and Tokaj, there is a Baranya county well known for its wines!
And basically what I am talking about is not only the area, the wine, and not even only the food.
What I would love to show you are all together with some extra, and what I call extra? Live music, festival feeling, open wineries, local food but let's say no more and start our tour to one of the traditional Hungarian regions which you probably didn't hear about – Villany.

The locals cherish the traditions and hand down from generation to generation. There are whole regions of opened cellars spread along the streets of Palkonya, Villány, Nagyharsány, you may find a stunning collection of wineries in the city of Siklós: which have been famous for its wine producing technologies for decades and now became a tourist attraction.

The Villány Wine Region, however goes beyond the old traditions and never stops to implement new technologies in order to be ready for the new season of wine festival, which is traditionally open in April and May. While most of you for sure have been exploring Eger and Tokay regions in Hungary for wine tasting, Villany wine makers were busy getting such prestigious awards as “Wine Producer of the Year” and “Wine cellar of the year” for six times! That's kind of impressive, right?

One of the most peculiar features of Villany region is the fact that a great number of cellar rooms are owned by true professionals who know their business and always implement new technologies in order to improve the quality.

The traditional Villany Festival opens not only together with wine cellars, but together with local food, live music and traditional dancing.
