This cosmodrome is considered to be the first cosmodrome in the world. It looks like a giant moth with huge round off wings at the background of droughty red-brown area of New-Mexico. Looking at the east side of this building, you would be able to admire its glass facade of interesting form, high steel arches and white interior. Lofty architecture fully corresponds to the high idea of the designation of this complex. It is supposed to become a platform for new space flights and the flourishing of the second space era.

The price of this project is about 209 million dollars. It has attracted the international attention because of its courageous aim, outstanding architecture and by the fact that it is the base of the first commercial space company "Virgin Galactic". Since 2012 it has already launched 12 successful flights.

To say that this construction is situated in remote area is to say nothing. This complex is located in the desert called Jordana del Muerto in New-Mexico, to the east of famous white sands and approximately 140 km to the north from El-Paso. Its location wasn't chosen randomly as it is situated in low-lying lands for the special purpose. This way it can retrieve the greatest amount of heat.
Although it was officially opened in 2010, the completion of construction of its surrounding infrastructure will be finished in 2013.
