The Monarch butterflies gathered so much that manage to cover around 10 acres in the Mexico city this year.
For the last few years, the beautiful Monarch butterflies were in danger to totally disappear, but things have changed due to the efforts of Mexican governmnent, these beautiful creatures increased their number for the last couple of years.
When the winter season starts the butterflies are travelling from the cooled areas of Canada and US to the warm west and settle down in the mountains of Mexico City where biologists make a proper count of the beauties.
Though due to the habit of butterflies to gather in huge clumps it makes it impossible to count them by pieces so biologists make a counting of the area where they settle down. Comparing to the previous years, the monarch butterflies made a great change for the best in their quantity and the Omar Vidal, who is a director of the World Wildlife Fund in Mexico city stresses out the importance for US and Canada to pay more attention to these insects in order to preserve the species. US is already planning to redesign a special area for butterflies migration.
