If you thought that Grand Canyon is the only one, you are terribly wrong, as one of the naturally flooded limestone canyon is located not far from the village of Morina, in Czech Republic and is the landmark of country while the locals proudly call it the Grand Canyon.

This natural attraction appeared due to the high demand of limestone, found in this area, which was actively used in most of the industries. The most active period was lasting after the World War first, this is the time when the canyon has become deeper and deeper, until few years later the Velka Amerika turned into 88 meter long and a hundred meter deep crater.

The operations of taking away stones and mining has been stopped since 1963 and since then the huge hole has been filled up with rain waters and as a result turned into huge lake.
