Fenhuan city in Hunan province has long been available for tourists. This unspoilt area of ancient China, which historic center has not changed for 300 years, was opened to travelers only in the early 2000s. Now Fenhuan receives about 10 million tourists a year and is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Asia.

Deliberately Fenhuan wasn't hidden from tourists. But it happened that in the near towns there was no airport, and the nearest large town - Huaihua has the train station, where people come to by high-speed trains, is only 100 kilometers from the Fenhuan. Everything changed in 2001, when only 34 kilometers from Fenhuana was opened Tongren airport. But since that time most of the passengers began to fly exactly to Fenhuan, so it was renamed as Tongren Fenghuang Airport.

Now Fenhuan annually receives 10 million travelers, 9.8 million of which are Chinese tourists. Fenhuan in its present form was founded in 1704.
