40 km south of Phan Thiet there is a Buddhist center, and near it - the biggest in Vietnam 49-meter high statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, made of white stone. Buddha sits on a small hill among pine trees and is in a state of nirvana. Not only can you touch the statue, but also lie down on the Buddha's arm tourists admit that it makes them feel relaxed.

The village of Mui Ne, which is 20 km from Phan Thiet Resort, has wide popularity among kite and windsurfing fans. In the vicinity of the resort there are two deserts. The first - with the terracotta-red sand (sometimes - pink and peach, depends on the time of the day). If you climb higher, you can see that the sand dunes look like slipping silk or rough camel's back. The White Desert is considered to be more interesting: milky sand is regularly replaced by layers of sand of wheat, amber, brown coloures. In the middle of the desert you can find three beautiful pond with lotuses.

On the island of Ke Ga (a couple of hours from Phan Thiet) there is one of the most interesting lighthouses in Southeast Asia. It was built by a French architect in the XIX century, but is still well preserved and continues to work. You can climb it overcoming 184 steps.

The main food market of the resort is not far from Le Hong Phong river bridge. There you can buy or taste national specialties, vegetables, exotic fruits, a variety of sweets and much more. It is worth looking in the fish section, which supply fresh goods from the nearest port.
