Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines can be called home to an unusual ethnic group - Baggio, they represent several related groups of indigenous people and tribes from the surrounding areas. Traditionally, they live in "Lepa-Lepa" - small handmade boats, have nomadic way of life, they set foot on land only to repair their boats, to trade in fish or to bury dead relatives.

For their special lifestyle Baggio are called "sea gypsies". Nomadic sailors live on the sea without drinking water and electricity, are fed with what they can  catch in the sea.

"Sea Gypsies" prefer to live far away from civilization. Some of them prefer living in boats on the sea, somebody – in small floating villages built on coral reefs.

Baggio can neither read, nor write. They do not know how old they are, although they know about the concept of age. Time and age does not really matter for them, the moment is the most important time.
Young children are constantly on the boats, they learn to dive or swim, while those who have reached the age of about 8 years are already engaged in fishing.
