For sure you are acquainted already with the famous works of Jason deCaires Taylor, who got his reputation for making unusual underwater sculptures. The most well known and absolutely astonishing sculpture of him is the “Ocean Atlas” - a rather big girl, hiding under the grant waves of the ocean in the Bahamas, next to the port of Nassau . If there was a Greek God Atlas who managed to hold the whole weight of the skies on his shoulders, he has a helper now – the Ocean Atlas, taking care of the whole ocean power.

But this tiny girl is not so light as you might think and actually weighs around 60 tons, though the height is only 5.5 meters. The artist used a special material for designing the woman - a pH-neutral cement, known for its awesome ability of allowing corals to grow on its body. So far it is just a cement sculpture that tries to hold the weights of the ocean, but in some time, as soon as the colorful corals cover its body it will turn into real artwork and will become a real family member of the ocean.

The artist couldn't imagine his life without water since early childhood, and the perfect combination of love for water and sculpture skills result in such man made wonders as this gorgeous girl. Divers will be thrilled to explore the area.
