According to the Guinness Book of Records the oldest in the world Hoshi Hotel is located on the island of Honshu in Japan. Not far from the beautiful old little town Komatsu this hotel opened its doors to the weary travelers in 717 AD.
In the rooms on the floor there are straw mats, sliding doors, bamboo furniture, small table with tea accessories. The rooms have no bathrooms, they have shared baths.
The hotel has ordinary rooms in a traditional style and a special "guest houses", the so-called «hanare», decorated in the style of Hokuriku region. There are a couple of baths with water from the hot springs outdoors and indoors - Guests can choose it according to their taste. As for the cuisine, the guests can be feed on a diet or have vegetarian menus.

The oldest hotel in Venice is a five-star Luna Baglioni - founded in the twelfth century. It has been documented in 1118, Templar knights used to stay here. In the XVI century, the hotel was called Locanda della Luna (“Moonlight Tavern”). The hotel's interior is decorated with works of the artist Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (Giovanni Battista Tiepolo).
