Chocolate Hills, Philippines: So Beautiful

On the island of Bohol, in the Philippines, is one of the most unique natural attractions of Asia - the so-called "Chocolate Hills".

This unique geological formation is located on the 50-kilometer area. According to various estimates, there are between 1260 to nearly 1800 individual karst hills of conical shape. Their average height is of 30 to 50 meters.

All the hills are covered with grass, which changes during the dry season from green to chocolate brown. Because of this, indeed, they have such a name as they look like endless rows of chocolates in boxes.

Chocolate Hills (Chocolate Hills) is a major tourist attraction in Bohol province,  its hallmark. Geologists still have not reached a consensus on how were these Chocolate Hills formed. The most popular theory is that this area in the distant past was the ocean bottom, and as a result of lowering of its level.

However, one thing is for sure, it wasn't done with the hands of the people, because the hilly area is huge - 50 square kilometers! The authorities of the province of Bohol actively develop tourism here, there are built viewing platforms from which you can see a part of the Chocolate Hills.
