All summer these lovely creatures spend time in the mountainous woods, but with the onset of cold weather, they come closer to the hot springs.

Hot thermal water for these monkeys has its positive and negative aspects. On the one hand, taking warm baths in cold weather is very nice, but on the other, without food they will not stay.
But here, these intelligent animals unscrew - they organize a kind of a duty, during which a pair of macaques look for "at hand" food, while the other "campers" are in the pool. Such food distributors change periodically.
These natural geothermal pools macaques are now a popular tourist attraction in Nagano Prefecture.

The exact date when they started taking these procedures is not known, but it is assumed that before the beginning of the 1970s. It was during the period when they were listed as endangered species.
