You need to be a poet to give the feeling of a really small Mediterranean island. It is a tiny and terribly cosy island, filled with the sun, immersed in the unique scent of the sea and the flowering bougainvillea. In Malta there is no time. It is not felt there. When you go having worn fashionable sandals on the pavement of the ancient capital of Mdina, involuntarily you feel that something is wrong. Here you need to walk in wooden clogs and revel in them with a clatter on the cobbles. And a narrow street from the yellow stones will lead to the medieval Church for example. Or encounter with friendly Maltese grandfather, hung with gold necklaces, like a sailor from a pirate ship.

But the main thing in Malta is that this small island is a Museum under the open sky. Ancient Mdina, Valletta, Sliema – all these cities will open up traveler secrets of the past. Time is not for Malta, where it is frozen and strictly guards its history.

For those who like a purely beach holiday, Malta is not suitable. It is not Cuba, not Phuket, not even Mallorca, there are no broad beaches. So, municipal sandy beaches, of course, exist, but they are small. Sand is white and tender, but there is no freedom. Hotels are equipped with special platforms with ladders for the descent into the water. Water should be seen as the purest, saturated colors, in some places turquoise, in others a bright blue. And bathing there is a great pleasure as you can swim safely without pushing and touching the other resting people.

In Malta someone have to go to who wants to be off from the current life, at least for a couple of weeks to forget that he or she lives in a crazy 21st century. And Malta will not disappoint. It will give the opportunity. The only difficulty is that it is hard to say goodbye, a piece of your heart remains on the island forever.
